Tracking Deer

Well to start off with I've got a question about tracking deer. I am wondering where a deer might hang out when they lose their antlers and/or whenever right about now. I know those are two totally different seasons but ... are deer typically habitual and keep to a regular home territory or do they move around depending on the season like Elk? many thanks for your thoughts.

Well I did not get my answer in the timeframe I thought I would but blessed be it is coming to me!!! Currently I am so glad to be working in a nature preserve and I get to see the deer THE DEER in the morning when we arrive. I also have a partner who is a hunter and a wealth of deer knowledge. The one thing that is ringing in my memory right now as I write this is how he pulled back the grass from this deer trail that we were walking on and commented how it felt like a highway to him since he could feel their tracks as we were walking.

We have seen bucks and does. and tracks of does with little ones.

It is all very good. What tracks have you seen of late? what animals are entering your life?

it depends on the region you are in and the type of deer you are looking for. here in south east AK . we have black tail and the snow move them from the alpine to the beach.
